Adapter For A 2010 Mercedes-Benz GL Class With Lamp Out Sensors Towing A Trailer With LED Lights
Question:
Hi, I own a 2010 Mercedes GL 450 that is equipped with a tow package. We've only owned the vehicle since January of this year and when attempting to connect our GL to our boat trailer, we've had some issues with some of the trailer lights not working. I've read about issues with Euro SUVs having problems with LED trailer lights, which our boat trailer does not have. What's happened for us is upon using a 7 way to 4 way flat adapter, we have working marker lights, flashers, and turn signals, but no brake lamps. In fact, on the dash was a message, something to the effect of trailer brake lights. I confirmed their lack of operation. I've also read that you all have an adapter, C35FR that it sounds like might correct some of our issues. I wanted to check and see if, based on the brief description I provided, that you believe this or another 7/4 adapter might correct our issue? To me, if both bulb filaments on the tail/brake/flasher bulbs illuminate on the trailer when the headlights are on in the GL and the flashers on, then it isn't a bulb issue. Thanks for any guidance or assistance you can provide!

You are correct, the 7-Way to 5-Way/4-Way Trailer Adapter for Vehicles with Lamp-Out Sensors Towing Trailers with LEDs # C35FR is indeed what you need, and is designed to alleviate the issue you're having towing your trailer with your 2010 Mercedes Benz GL Class with lamp-out sensors.
This adapter will plug into a 7-way connector on the vehicle and the 5-way or 4-way flat connector on your trailer.
