Swapping Pins of Hopkins 6 Way to 7 Way Adapter #47435 to Prevent Brake Lock Up

Question:

I am having trouble with my trailer brakes are locking up when using my 6 pole to 7 pole adapter #47435. You have a fabulous video for the reverse adapter 7 pole to 6 pole - #47549 showing how to correct the same issue. Can you please tell me how to rewire my #47435 adapter? Thanks!

Helpful Expert Reply:

The easiest way to rewire the Adapter part # 47435 to prevent the brakes from locking up would be to do it on the 6-way side since that side comes apart a bit easier. So to do that remove the set screw at the base of the 6-way and at the tip of it so that you can access the pins by sliding the housing down onto the wire harness and swap the pins that are in the center pin and the 2:00 position. The orientation of "up" of the 6-way will be with the alignment slot on top.
