Replacement Surge Brake Actuator for 1996 Shorelander Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a 1996 shorelander boat trailer with a very large surge break trailer hitch on drum breaks. I’d like a surge break actuator that is more low profile. Can you help recommend a product? Boat is a 1994 Mariah 200 Talari.

The coupler you currently have has a 6,000 lb capacity and fits a 2" ball. Assuming you have a 3" wide tongue, you can use the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator - Bolt On - Drum - 2" Ball - Zinc - 7,500 lbs # DX33FR.
This does not have a lockout but you can use the Replacement Consumer Lockout Key for Dexter Axle Brake Actuators - Qty 1 # DX94FR for manual lockout. If you have a 5-way and need an electric lockout you would need to add the # T4748800 instead.
I have attached some review and installation videos, along with a link to all of our drum brake actuators with a 2" ball that you can check out.
