The trunk mount bike rack that I would recommend for your 2012 Toyota Prius is the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Carrier, # TH45JV, that you referenced. This is one of our most popular trunk mount bike racks that has many features such as arcing arms arms for more clearance between the bikes, durable ratcheting cable straps and anti-sway cradles.

If you would like a more economical recommendation, I would take a look at the Thule Gateway 2 Bike Carrier, # TH88VR. This bike rack also uses arcing arms and anti-sway cradles, but it will come with the traditional 6 nylon straps rather than 2 ratcheting cables.

If you plan on carrying any women's, children's or alternative frame bikes, I would also recommend picking up a bike adapter bar like part # TH982XT. Bikes with small or angled frames can be difficult to load on a bike rack and can cause ground clearance issues. This adapter will allow you to load the bikes easily and safely.
