Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation For a 2004 Lexus GX470 With a Spoiler

The Trunk of my Lexus GX470 swings out to the right, It also has a spoiler on the trunk door. I need a Bike Rack to hold 2 bikes. I prefer a trunk mount. I have a hitch, but the hitch racks are very expensive and you have to buy a $40 lock to secure the rack. Any trunk mount recommendations?

I have two options for a trunk mount bike rack if your spoiler on your 2003 Lexus GX470 is metal. The first option is the Thule Gateway Pro # TH88VR. This rack holds two bikes, has anti-sway arms and folds up for storage. This is your basic, sturdy, economical bike rack with the integrated cable lock, but I recommend using # TH533 to secure the rack to your locked hatch.
If the spoiler on your vehicle is plastic, then going with a hitch mount is the best option because plastic cannot hold the weight that is put upon that attachment point whereas metal can. An economical hitch mounted bike rack is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. This option carries 2 bikes, has a tilting feature to allow access to your cargo area and as a bonus has an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin that can be upgraded to a lock using # THSTL2 and a cable lock like # e98891.
Finally, with any hanging bike rack, if you are going to be carrying bikes with a frame other than a typical mans bike, I recommend the Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT. By using this bar it will keep your bike level and provide ground clearance.
