Recommended Upgrade For 6-1/16" Long Equalizer TREQ310

Question:

I am looking to replace an eq 310 stock equalizer with a cushioned equalizer and welt bolt kit. Problem I am running into us eq 310 height at 4 inches is taller than say the Dexter EZ flex and narrower than the equaflex that Offers the same height. It is a boat trailer and my fender clearance is already really tight…so I don’t have much room to go with any option that will shorten distance between tire and fender. Not exactly sure if the equaflex at 7 1/2 inches width vs eq 310 6 inch width!but same 4 inch height would be an option with shorter shackle strap length?

I do have an upgrade option for your 6-1/16" long, 4" tall Equalizer # TREQ310, and since you don't want to lower the ride height with the E-Z Flex # K71-652-00, I recommend going with an option from MORryde, as the Equa-Flex are just too long at 7-1/2". So instead I recommend the following:

- MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 33" Wheelbase - 8K # MR87ZR

- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR

The MORryde # MR87ZR measures 6-1/2" long and 3-1/8" tall, so it is the closest overall to your equalizer, and fits the same 33" axle spacing as the E-Z Flex which we know is a good replacement for your equalizer.

Since it is slightly longer and a bit shorter, you'll want to go with shorter shackle straps, the 2-1/4" straps of the # MR46ZR, to help make up the difference. This will give you approximately the same ride height (it may lower the trailer ever so slightly), but greatly improve the ride.
