Tips for Finding Brake Light Circuit of 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser for Brake Controller Install

Question:

I am trying to install a brake controller to a 1997 toyota landcruiser. Ive made all the wiring connections except the red wire from the brake controller, which is supposed to go to the cold side of the brake switch. There is not enough access to the brake switch to get in contact with any wires for a connection. I have two questions: 1 Which wire from the brake switch does the red wire connect to, since I cannot reach up in there to use a probe? 2 Is there another location to connect the red wire besides the brake switch? Thanks!

Since we don't have a way to let you know which of the wires on your brake pedal switch is the cold side we can only really help by offering a universal stoplight switch like the part # RM-751000 or a circuit tester with a hook end for probing wires like the # PTW2993 which makes testing hard to get to circuits much easier.
