Best 5th Wheel Hitch for Binding Side to Side When Unhooking on Unlevel Ground

Question:

Im looking for a hitch that doesnt bind from side to side when unhooking on unlevel campground. Someone recommended a 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 shortbed with a TommyLift gate. What is your suggestion?

For a 5th wheel hitch that is known for it's ease of use when in a bind (literally) I recommend checking out the 18K B&W Patriot # BWRVK3270. B&W designed the latching handle as a cam-action so it's very easy to operate even if you're parked on an uneven surface.

A 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter could be useful as well since you'll be attaching to a hitch ball instead of a plate, but that would require you to either change out your pin box or install a gooseneck hitch if your current system doesn't have one - both of which are not as cost-effective as the B&W which is a top-of-the-line hitch.

If you don't already have a 7-Way in your truck bed I also recommend picking up on like the Pollak # PK11893-11932 to make hooking up your 5th wheel wiring much easier.
