Ball Mount For 2 Inch Hitch w/ Mount Not Welded On & Minimal Rise/Drop For Curt RockerBall
Question:
I am in the need of a ball mount that has ZERO drop-and a 1-inch hole. I have looked at C45010 and do not want a welded mount. It also has to be able to accept C40047 Rocker Ball Shock Absorber. It fits INTO A 48-RECIEVER BAR and must haul a 7,000-horse trailer. I am concerned about the weight loss due to the bar extension. Do I need a 12,000/7,500 lb. ball hitch and if so, which one do I need?

We can come close to what you are wanting, but the only ball mounts with a true zero rise or drop do already have the hitch balls on, like the Curt Solid 2-Ball Mount # C45665.
Otherwise, since you don't want the platform welded on, you'll need to go with a single-piece aluminum ball mount, and there is one that is rated for 8,000 lbs towing, fits a 2" hitch (or receiver bar), and has a 1" hole for the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # C40047. It does have a 1" rise/2" drop, which is the closest available:
- Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 1" Rise, 2" Drop - 8,000 lbs - Aluminum # C74WR
You can secure the # C74WR to your receiver with Pin and Clip # C21500 or Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98880.
