Parts Needed For Installing a Curt Echo Under Dash Brake Controller On a 2019 Subaru Outback
Question:
Hi there! Im trying to set up a 2019 Subaru Outback with a brake controller that will connect to a tear trailer with a 7 pin pole? connection. In my perusing of your website, it seems like my best option would be to purchase a 4 pin controller and a 4 to 7 adapter. The products I found are [#30717, Adapter 4 Pole to 7 pole Vehicle End Trailer Connecter] and [#C27JR and #C51515 Curt Echo Under-Dash Brake Controller and Universal Wiring Adapter]. Heres my question: is there just a 7 pole controller out there for my car that Im missing? If not, would the set-up I described actually work? Thanks so much

You are correct that the best option is to add a 4-way to 7-way adapter for adding a brake controller to your 2019 Subaru Outback.
First I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 over the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector # 30717 that you found. The # ETBC7 includes all the additional wiring and circuit breakers you will need to install the brake controller as well as the charge line the trailer will require. It also has a separate 4-way connection in the event you need to pull a trailer that only has a 4-way connection and don't want to carry an adapter.
The Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller # C27JR with Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers # C51515 will allow for you to operate your trailer brakes from your smartphone.
If you don't already have a 4-way on your Subaru the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 will allow you to connect to the factory connection already in the back of your storage area.
There currently is not an all in one kit for your Outback that would give you a everything listed above.
