2022 Ford Explorer Roof Rack and Bike Racks to Fit with Panoramic Roof
Question:
Hello I have a 2022 Explorer ST with a panoramic sunroof. I’m reading mixed reviews about having a roof rack with a glass roof. I’m going to use the roof rack to haul no more than 2 mountain bikes. Are you able to comment if my setup will work? Thx

You will be able to install a roof rack just fine with the panoramic sunroof on your 2022 Ford Explorer ST. I recommend checking out the Yakima JetStream setup which uses the following:
60" JetStream Crossbars - # Y00426
TimberLine Towers - # Y33TR
Lock Core Kit - # Y07204 (optional)
Most manufacturers will say to avoid opening the sunroof because it may make contact with the roof rack or accessories. If the accessories hang down pretty low then that could be an issue but from my experience that's pretty rare. The biggest problem you'll have is hearing the whistling from the crossbars. The JetStream bars have an aerodynamic design which works great for a normal roof but when you open up the sunroof it changes the aerodynamics so you'll definitely get some wind noise.
If you don't already have roof bike rack I recommend going with the Thule UpRide # TH599000 if you want to keep the front wheel on or the Thule TopRide # TH75JV if you want a fork mount rack. The wheel mount option is nice because you don't have to store your front tire but it's easier to lift and install your bike on the fork mount option since that front tire isn't there.
