When it comes to installing a trailer hitch on your 2011 Ford Escape V6 The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch # C13651 will work. I recommend looking into your vehicle's manual to find out the proper towing capacity for your vehicle. Per my sources your vehicle can tow up to 3,290 pounds.
The Curt Hitch has a gloss black powder coat finish that offers superior rust resistance, and has a simple bolt on installation. Depending on if you're towing a trailer I recommend The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118551. It has a simple plug and play installation that plus behind the driver and passenger side tail lights.
You would also need The Curt Starter Towing Kit # C45534. This kit includes the ball mount, the 2 inch ball, and other starter towing accessories to help you with your setup.
