For a hitch that fits your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98901. This is a custom fit Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 lbs and max tongue weight of 600 lbs. It also features a matte black powder coat finish which does a better job hiding dirt and scratches when compared to a glossy finish.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118727. When it comes to wiring we have found Tekonsha to be the most reliable. This plugs directly into existing wiring and will provide you with a 4-way connection to power a trailer's signal lights.
For a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
