Can a 2016 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Haul a 5th Wheel Trailer Due to Payload

Question:

I have a 2016, F250 superduty crew cab, 6.7 diesel with an 8ft bed. I was looking at the possibility of purchasing a camper but was told that my truck cant manage a 5th wheel trailer. Something to do with payload capacity. This is very confusing and I dont understand why it cant be done.

The 2016 Ford F-250 is perfectly capable of towing a fifth wheel trailer but you will have some figures you need to abide by such as the GAWR, GVWR, and Payload. These are further explained in the owner's manual. The payload is usually lower on crew cab models but not soo much so that you can't tow a fifth wheel by any means. I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3500-5W and part # BWGNRK1111-5W if you don't have the prep package or part # BWRVK3305 if you do. These are the best options on the market for hitches.

There are plenty of crew cab 1/2 tons on the market towing fifth wheels without issue, your 3/4 ton will do just fine.
