Blue Ox Base Plate Fit For 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Hi there, We are planning on updating our toad from a 1995 Wrangler to a 2022 unlimited. We currently have a Blue Ox tow bar rated for 6500 pounds. I see Blue Ox base plates for 2021 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, but not 2022. Do I have to get the roadmaster and adapter to my blue ox? Thanks!

There is absolutely a Blue Ox base plate for your 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, so long as it has the standard factory bumper. So you can use a 6,500 lb Blue Ox tow bar like the Alpha 2 # BX7380 and not have to get any type of adapter. I verified with Blue Ox that the correct base plate for your '22 Wrangler Unlimited is the following:
- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1139
Along with the base plates, you'll also need tow bar wiring, and for the '22 Wrangler Unlimited, the right kit is going to depend on if the Jeep has the ParkSense proximity sensors. If it does you'll need a Smart Diode kit that allows the proper voltage to get through.

- WITHOUT ParkSense: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
Finally, if you don't have one you'll also need a supplemental braking system, and the best one, due to it giving you braking power proportional to your motorhome - which allows much smoother braking - is the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO # DM86VR.
