Replacement Axle System For a 2018 Forest River Pop Up Camper With Dexter #10 Torflex Axle
Question:
Hi, I just bought a used 2018 Forest river popup and suspect I have a bent dexter axle. I was not able to locate the exact model to get an idea how much it will cost to replace it. The label on the axle says Dexter Nev-r-Adjust 4946977 S/N 122149704 Capacity: 3000 lbs. Would you please help to locate the parts?

Expert Reply:
The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System w Electric Brake Hubs # A35RS545E will be the only option we have for your 2018 Forest River pop up camper. We currently do not carry torsion axles like you have with the Dexter axle. The Timbren system that I have linked above would replace your torsion axle and includes the electric brakes as well as hub/drum assemblies so you will have all new components. It uses progressive rate springs with a weight capacity up to 3,500lbs so it will be stronger than the 3,000lb system you currently have. You will need to confirm with Forest River if you will be able to carry any additional weight with the new system as the frame or other components may limit you still to the 3,000lb capacity.
