Do I Need to Cut My Bed Liner to Install the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch?

Can the BWRVK3500-5W companion hitch be installed in a truck bed with a plastic bed liner or does it have to be mounted flat against the steel bed with no obstruction in between? Thank you

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw item # BWRVK3500-5W has to be mounted flat against your truck bed to fully sit inside the turnoverball system. I have attached a section of the install instructions below that explains the steps you will need to take.
