7-Way Trailer Connector Installation on 2011 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
2011 jeep wrangle 2Dr with out a towing package and everything Im looking at seems to have a male end and so does a trailer wiring kit so how does the towing harnesses that tie in to the backlights and have a male end tie into a trailer hardness with a male end. Towing wiring from the factories have a female end. So what hardness would you suggest for towing and has a female end for my jeep.. Thank you

If you're needing a 7-way trailer connector for your 2011 Wrangler (which is what it sounds like), you'll need to start by installing a 4-pole connector using part # 118416.
How you'll proceed from here depends on if your trailer has electric brakes or not. If it does not, you'll also need the 4-pole to 7-way adapter, part # 37185 which plugs into the 4-pole provided by the # 118416. Once plugged in, the adapter has 4 additional wires. The white wire is grounded to the vehicle frame, and the rest of the wires can be tucked up out of the way, as they won't be needed. This will provide the female 7-way trailer connector.
If your trailer does have electric brakes, you'll need to install a brake controller to actuate them. I'd recommend the Tkeonsha Primus, part # TK90160. You'll also need the # ETBC7 brake controller install kit, which includes the adapter mentioned above, but also the necessary wire, hardware and circuit breakers to successfully complete the installation.
I've linked to some installation and demonstration videos that you might find helpful.
