Wheel Size Compatible With Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs # e84YR

Question:

Just curious why this axle is only able to accept 12 tires. If I had 15 rims with appropriate bolt pattern, why wouldnt this work. I would be using this for a kayak trailer application. Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 60 Long - 2,000 lbs

The Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs # e84YR is only able to use 8"-12" wheels due to its weight capacity. Since this axle is rated for 2,000lbs you will need to use wheels and tires near that same rating. If you were to use 15" wheels and tires like the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" White Spoke Wheel # AM32395 that has a weight rating of 1,820lbs per tire, the tire will not flex and the added stress will transfer to axle and risks damage to the hub/spindle.

The Kenda Loadstar 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" Galvanized Wheel # AM30850 is the tallest tire we have that will have the appropriate weight rating for the axle. The tire has an overall diameter of 21.9" and a weight rating or 1,045lbs.
