Can Old Thule Square Crossbars Be Used On a 2014 Subaru Forester with Fixed Points

Question:

I have a 2014 Subaru Forester with the fixed mount points. I am hoping to reuse my square bar system that I already have. I got the TK2 foot pads for an old dodge van I had and was hoping there was something like that for the Subaru. I would like to keep this since I have the double length bars so I can carry two canoes and dont want to retool to much.

I do have an option for you but Thule did away with the old style square bars awhile ago and they stop supporting parts for them so we don't offer a way to allow you to reuse them unfortunately. That said, if you have a bunch of accessories that mount to these square bars you are not completely out of luck as Thule does still offer square bars, the Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbar System part # TH712200, part # TH460R, and part # THKIT3079 which will fit a 2014 Subaru Forester.

Unfortunately, you can't oversize the square crossbars anymore due to the design change they made with how the crossbars attach to the feet.
