Parts Needed to Add a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2011 Honda CR-V
Question:
I tow a lightweight tear camper. Is there a way to hook up a 7 way blade unit to the 2011 Honda CR-V? Dont need to hook up the brake wire, but the battery on the camper needs to charge while going down the road. Thanks for your help.

In order to install a 7-Way trailer connector on your 2011 Honda CR-V you will first need to either have a 4-Way flat or add one using # 118427. Then you would need to use # ETBC7 which will provide the 7-Way and accessories you will need to make the 12 volt circuit live. I have included some links to help with the ETBC7 installation.
The ETBC7 installation links mention the brake and brake controller installation but if you do not want to add a brake controller then you can skip that part of the installation. If you do want a brake controller then I recommend the P2 # 90885 because of its reliability and ease of use.
Also you will need to keep in mind that the 12 volt circuit of a trailer connector will only provide a maintenance charge to a trailer battery but it will not charge up the battery. The trailer battery should be charged periodically with a battery charger like # CTEK56353.
