Recommended Suspension Enhancement for a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road with KDSS Trailer Towing

Question:

Would installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System on a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road with KDSS that will be towing a 5000 lb tandem axle trailer be an appropriate application of this product? If not what would you recommend? Thank you.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TTORSEQ would help to reduce the sag on your 2022 Toyota 4 Runner when you are towing your 5,000lb trailer. You may notice a harsher ride when you are not towing the trailer as the suspension will have the Timbrens acting to reduce how far the suspension travels when hitting any pot holes as well. Your KDSS works to prevent body roll when on road and allows for articulation when off road so that will not affect the Timbren's but they may limit your articulation off road.

I recommend a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET as being the best way to reduce sag when you are towing. This will allow you to adjust the spring tension to level your 4Runner when towing your trailer. Since you are not altering your suspension you will have the same ride quality when you are not towing as you currently have. The Equal-i-zer will also give you the benefit of sway protection to keep the trailer tracking straight behind you when you are towing. This particular hitch is rated for a trailer up to 10,000lbs with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs. If your trailer has a different tongue weight please let me know how much and I can recommend the correct weight distribution hitch.

A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 will be needed to install the 2-5/16" hitch ball that comes with the Equal-i-zer hitch.
