Need a Grease Seal With Inner Diameter of 1.845 Inches and Outer Diameter of 2.442 Inches

Question:

I have a home made trailer that has a mobile home idler axel under it. I dont know what brand the axel is. I cant find a grease seal for the hub, the original seal was plastic. I know these axels were never intended to use like this but this is what I have. The I.D. Of the seal is 1.845inch +\- .002 The O.D. Is 2.442inch +\- .002 Do you have any idea where I might find a seal?

We offer a range of grease seals in various sizes. These can be seen on the link provided. You can select parts based on the seal inner and outer diameters or you can use the bearing number from your trailer to search for a grease seal. I have attached two photos, which show where such part numbers are typically found and where to measure the spindle and hub bore to obtain accurate inner and outer seal diameters.

The trouble with measuring the original seals is that they may have been deformed slightly when they were removed. Also, inner diameters (at the rubber seal) are challenging to measure with accuracy since the rubber may degrade over time and its dimension may change.

The reference number from the original part is almost always the best method for finding a correct replacement.

The nearest size grease seal to the measurements you provided (1.845 inches - thank you) is the
1.875 inch inner diameter and outer diameter of 2.500 inches. This is part # BB60009. Its outer diameter is slightly larger than your measurement. In the other direction (smaller than your measurement) we offer # BB60010, which has an outer diameter of 2.360 inches.
