Replacement Idler Hubs For Jet Ski Trailer With 3,500LB Axle For Corrosion Resistance

Question:

I have a relatively new jetski trailer that I picked up and need to replace the idler hubs as they failed. Unfortunately I dont know what brand the trailer is. Its a tapered spindle and I only have the outside bearing part number which is an L44649. The spindle where the inner bearing mounts is 1.75. The outer diameter for the bearing seal is 2.5. Do you have galvanized 4 lug hubs that would fit this application? I cant seem to find one.

It appears your jetskit trailer has a 3,500lb axle under it with a #84 spindle. This is a tapered spindle that uses the Outer Bearing # L44649. I believe you measured the grease seal area and not inner bearing to come up with the 1.75" measurement. We will only have hubs that use the 5 on 4-1/2" or larger bolt pattern.

You could change your wheels and tires to fit the more common hub sizes. If you can let me know your tire size I can help you find a suitable replacement wheel and tire.

The Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K is for axles that have the EZ lube spindles.

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K is for your standard axle spindles without a grease zerk.

Finally you can choose a Stainless Steel Kodiak Trailer Hub # KH84545S. This will require you to also get the Inner Bearing # L68149, Outer Bearing # L44649 and Grease Seal # 58846 to complete the hub.

Be sure to use a Marine Grease # L54FR to fill the bearings and hubs.
