Will the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit for 6,000 Pound Axles Fit 2018 Wolfpack Cherokee 38 5th Wheel
Question:
I have a 2018 wolfpack Cherokee 38 fifth wheel toy hauler I want to upgrade to hydraulic brakes. It has tandem 6k Dexter axles. Will the Kodiak disc kit K2HR526D with the HydraStar Actuator kit HBA16-252-82 work? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 12" Hub/Rotor - 6 on 5-1/2 - Dacromet - 5,200 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K2HR526D fits axles with a #42 spindle. This uses # 25580 inner and # 15123 outer bearings which are the most common size bearings for a 6k axle like the Dexter axles on your trailer.
Without knowing the specific axles or pulling the hubs and checking your bearings there is no guarantee these will fit. I recommend checking your bearings or reaching out to Dexter with the serial number to verify that these are the bearings used on your axles. If the bearings match then this is the correct disc brake kit for you.
This kit will work well with the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # HBA16-252-82. Since it comes with the brake lines, actuator, and breakaway, the only other thing you will need is a brake controller like the # RED44FR.
I have attached some review and installation videos, along with a helpful article on adding disc brakes for your reference.
