2019 Ford Ranger Locking Ladder Rack Availability and Fitment with Bed Liner

Question:

I’m considering the purchase of a Erickson Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Load Stops - Aluminum - 800 lbs Item # EM07705. I have 2 questions. Is there a lock I can put on the mounting bolts so that I can protect the rack from getting stolen? The second question has to do with installation of the rack on trucks with bed liners. Can you give me an example of the kind of alterations that may be required to fit the rack on a 2019 Ford Ranger Supercab with a factory installed liner? Thanks for your help.

The Erickson Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Load Stops # EM07705 is a solid choice for a decent ladder rack to use for your 2019 Ford Ranger. It doesn't come with locks or have the ability to install one save from using a thread locker like the Red Loctite # LT37420.

If your Ranger has a drop-in bed liner you may or may not need to modify your liner - it all depends on how the clamps fit with the liner. If they are able to secure without modifying the liner then great! But if the liner is in the way of where you need/want to install the clamps you'll need to cut it to make room. I was able to install the Thule Xsporter Pro # TH500XTB on a 2020 F-250 that had the bed liner just fine without any modifications as you can see in the attached video, I just had to have the clamps in certain places so they fit right.

The Xsporter Pro actually does have the ability to lock and adjust the height so it's a great alternative to the Erickson if adding locks is something you really want. The biggest difference between these 2 racks though is that the Erickson is rated for 800 lbs while the Xsporter Pro is only rated for 450 lbs. If you want to go with the Xsporter Pro you can use the black version I mentioned above or you can get it in silver with part # TH500XT.
