Will Curt Hitch # C13143 Interfere with Electronics on a 2013 Lexus RX 350 When Installed

Question:

Need 2inch receiver opening for my swagman bike rack. How much of hitch shows? Can tow loops be re-installed once hitch is installed? I realize that the receiver will be below the bumper and should not interfere with the parking sensors. But, will the parking sensors activate when a bike and rack is attached? Will the installation interfere in anyway with any electronics such as an ECU for the parking sensors? Lastly, are there any installation glitches which I should be made aware of? Thanks.

The Curt Hitch # C13143 that you referenced will fit your 2013 Lexus RX350.The picture shows what the hitch will look like on the back of your vehicle - the receiver opening is about flush with the bumper.

In the installation instructions that are attached, step 12 notes that if you do not have the F-Sport model your tow loops can be re-installed. If you do have the F-sport model then the tow loops cannot be re-installed.

The installation will not interfere with your electronics of your vehicle, however when your bikes are loaded on your Swagman bike rack they will, according to my contact at Lexus, more than likely activate your parking sensors. Simply turn off your parking sensors during the time your bikes are loaded.

There are not really any glitches to this installation, however, these installation instructions cover both the standard RX-350 and the F-Sport model - make sure you follow the instructions for your vehicle.
