Troubleshooting Curt Brake Controller Not Working With Headlights On
Question:
I recently purchased a Wolf pup trailer. I am pulling it with a 2002 Toyota tundra. I noticed that when I turn on my lights my Curt brake control dose not sent the power to the breaks to activate. It will only work if i have the lights off. Any ideas on what could do to fix it?

If your Curt brake controller connects to your 2002 Toyota Tundra via the vehicle port under you dash, like what we see with the Assure Controller # C49UR and Wiring Adapter # C51515, then there really shouldn't be any reason why your headlights being on should change anything.
I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2979 to check all of the wires going to your brake controller as well as all of the wires going into the 7-Way at the back of your truck since it sounds like you have some wire functions crossing somewhere.
