Is Fastway E2 1000 lb Trunnion Weight Distribution System Available Minus The Shank
Question:
I have a 2015 Ram 2500 that I will be towing a 2022 Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH travel trailer with. The trailer has an empty tongue weight of 468 lbs., so I am guessing with propane tanks and a battery on the front of the trailer the tongue weight will be closer to 600lbs. I am interested in an E2 Fastway WD/sway control hitch and I wanted to see if you carry the trunion style without the shank like you do with the round bar models? I would likely have to get a shank with more of a drop since the back of the truck sits fairly high off the grounds. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

We don't offer the Fastway E2 1000 lb capacity model minus the weight distributing shank.
Is there a particular reason why you didn't want to go with the round bar system?
The # FA92-00-1000 which includes the shank which won't work well for you and the # FA94-00-1033 which is available minus the shank would both provide the same degree of weight distribution and sway control.
The only advantage of the trunnion system is that it provides greater ground clearance which typically isn't an issue when you're towing with a truck. The only other difference between the round bar and the trunnion style is the trailer frame bracket placement. If the round bar system is used, the frame brackets would mount between 24-27 inches rearward of the trailer ball. For the trunnion system, the brackets are mounted between 27-30 inches aft of the trailer ball.
Other than those differences, the two system would preform the same for you. If it's physically possible to mount the frame brackets 24-27 inches rearward of the trailer ball, the round bar system would work perfectly for you.
If you still feel the need to go with a trunnion system, the Equal-i-zer # EQ37101ET 1000 lb system is sold minus the shank. The Equal-i-zer system would provide noticeably better sway control, and has the added benefit of being manufactured in the US.
The Equal-i-zer system includes the 2-5/16 inch trailer ball, the Fastway # FA94-00-1033 does not. You'll need to purchase the # 19286 ball separately. You'll need a 1-7/8 inch thin walled socket to install the ball.
