Front Brakes for a Texas Bragg Trailer w/out Front Axle Brakes

Question:

I have Texas Bragg trailer with 5200lbs axles. With brakes on the rear axle only. Im looking to install brakes on my front axle as well. To get more stopping power , since my current brakes are pretty weak and wont even lock up the brakes on my empty trailer. Can I purchase the Dexter never adjust brake assembly rated for 6000lbs on my 5200 axle? I might swap out my rear brake assembly for something that actually work as well . Im just worried about fitment issues

The Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit item # 23-458-459 are 12" in diameter x 2" wide. The mounting flanges have a 5-bolt pattern. They will fit 14.5" to 16" wheels. If your Texas Bragg Trailer has hubs and tires that match those dimensions then they will fit your trailer. Your biggest concern is that axle having a brake mounting flange like the Redline Brake Mounting Flange for 3" Round Axle item # 4-44-1. That axle may not have one if it doesn't have brakes. This isn't something you will be able to add yourself. You will need to either replace the axle or have a flange welded on by a professional.
