Will The Dexter 12" Electric Brake Kit 23-105-106 Replace The AxleTek 12" Brakes On My Trailer?

Question:

Will this backing plate assembly Item # 23-105-106 replace the Axletex-12-GG Part # B12E22 I have on my 5200 Lbs. Axles. Axle Teknology Hub part no. BD2-655 According to the video with the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb and 6,000-lb Axles - 12inch - 6 on 5-1/2 - Pre-Greased Item # AKHD-655-6-K The Barings, and seal are the same part number as mine. I am trying to match things up so I can replace my breaks on 2 axles. Thank you!

The Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-105-106 will definitely work as a replacement for your AxleTek Trailer Brakes B12E-22 (right) and B12E-21 (left), our part number # AKEBRK-6. Both of these are 12" x 2" brakes and have the same 5 bolt pattern found on brakes of this size.

The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-K will also match these brakes and as you mentioned having the same bearings and seals, they will be perfect for your axles and are a direct replacement for the AxleTek number you found. They also come pre-greased, which makes it a little easier to get them up and running.

The only potential upgrade you may consider is the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-458-459. This still includes both right and left brakes, has a 6,000 pound capacity, has the 5 bolt pattern, and will measure 12" x 2", but the Nev-R-Adjust designation means they are set it and forget it. They adjust themselves as the shoes wear down so there is no need to get under the trailer and tighten them every now and then. They are a bit more expensive, but I do like their ease of use.
