How Many Support Brackets Are Needed For A 14 Foot Bunk Board Carrying A Pontoon Boat?

I have a 1996 premiere horizon pontoon with a 90 hp Johnson, the pontoons are 19 ft and 24 inch diameter, l have one cross member on my 19 ft v hull trailer, l am installing 14 ft bunks,how many supports do I need and how far beyond the back of the trailer can I run the bunks?

As the bunks will be support the weight of your pontoon boat, I always recommend getting them to the end of the transom, or as close as possible. As you mentioned using 14 foot long boards, you will want at least 4 evenly spaced support brackets per board, but 5 is better. You have a few options for these brackets as well. I tend to like the CE Smith V-Wing Bolster Bracket # CE26244G as I prefer the rigid style and it can hold two boards. However, our most popular style is the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket # CE10000G-4.

If you were also needing the carpet for your 14 foot boards, we have this is 12 foot sections ( # CE11330) and 18 foot sections ( # CE11349). The 18 foot one will be the better option between the two in your case.
