The Curt Class III 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C13105, will fit all versions of the 2012 Toyota Sienna, including the All Wheel Drive model. I confirmed compatibility with my technical contact at Curt Manufacturing.
I have linked a video demonstrating installation on a 2012 Sienna. Please note that this hitch ships with complete instructions (which are linked to this email also) as well as all required mounting hardware.
Curt hitch # C13105 carries a 350-lb tongue weight rating, and gross trailer weight rating of 3500 lbs. If this hitch is used along with a towing weight distribution system its tongue weight rating increases to 500-lbs and its gross trailer weight rating increases to 5000-lbs. For reference, I have linked an article concerning what items are needed to tow a trailer.
If you plan to tow a trailer you will also need a hitch pin and clip, a ball mount (of the appropriate height to match your Sienna and trailer) and a hitch ball of the same size as the coupler on your trailer (1-7/8, 2 or 2-5/16 inch). You can use hitch pin/clip # PC3, a ball mount such as the Draw-Tite # 2753, and hitch ball such as the 2-inch Tow Ready # 63845. If your Sienna does not already have a trailer wiring harness at the rear bumper you can use the Curt Custom Fit Harness # C56106.
If your plans include a hitch-mounted bike or cargo carrier you can use the links provided to review compatible products in both categories.
The link for bike carriers will show you all such products that will fit your 2-inch Class III hitch; you can choose from hanging- or platform-style carriers in various capacities. I have also linked two helpful articles concerning hitch bike carriers. The link for cargo carriers will show you products to fit your Class III hitch; these come in a variety of types from flat carriers to enclosed carriers.
It is important to keep in mind that when using bike or cargo carriers you must ensure the total weight of the carrier and what you load on it remains within the rated hitch tongue weight capacity. In the case of the 350-lb-rated Curt hitch, if your cargo carrier of choice itself weighs 50-lbs, then you can load only 300-lbs of cargo in it even though the carrier may be rated for higher weight. In a multi-component system such as a hitch and cargo carrier, the lowest-rated part determines overall capacity. It is a good idea to check your owners manual (or local dealership) for information regarding the vehicle limits.
