How to Determine Correct Replacement Hub For Jet Ski Trailer

Question:

Greetings, I have an ezloader 1999 jetski trailer that I need to replace the hubs on. From my understanding they need to be the shorty style. I can send a picture of my spindle/hub to help identify the replacement. I have tried the bt150 shorty, they dont work because the distance between the two races are too much. I need the distance to be 1 1/8. Let me know if you think this will work CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly w/ Case for 2.7K Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized - Pre-Greased Item # CE13315

So I can help you determine how to figure out the correct replacement hub for your jet ski trailer, but there's some things you'll need to know first, and I wouldn't be able to confirm a fit of the CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # CE13315 without those details.

First, you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them.

If you are unable to find them, you need to use digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure. Additionally, you need to know your hub's wheel bolt pattern; if you do not know what it is I have added a help article which details how you can find it, as well as a printable bolt hole template you can use.

For example, the Trailer Idler Hub # CE13315 is for 2,700 lb axles, uses inner bearing and outer bearing # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) and a grease seal with a 1.50" inner diameter.

If you get back to me with this information I'd be happy to try and help you find the correct hub; I have also added a link below to our entire selection of hubs for you to come back to.
