How To Re-Wire A 16 Foot Gooseneck Trailer From Scratch

I am working on rewiring my 16’ gooseneck cattle trailer. I need brakes, lights, and all the wiring. Can you help put together all I need. Would like to start from scratch Thanks

To wire your trailer from scratch you should first start by, sketching a diagram of your wiring. That way if down the road there is some issues with your wiring, you're going to know exactly where to look. You're going to need to add a 4 flat # 002220, and a 7 way connector # ETBC7.

Next, you'll need to add rear lights # M880-7 if you do not have any currently.

Finally, for brakes, you'll need to first determine what the axle capacity is first. You can determine this by checking the axle tag located on the center of the beam. From here you can determine which brakes you need based off the axle capacity. For instance, if your trailer axle capacity is 2,000-lbs you can use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2, with the hub and drum assembly # AKHD-545-2-EZ-1K.
