Replacement Winch For 71" Lippert Spare Tire Carrier # LC159041

Question:

I have installed this spare tire carrier on my Rockwood Minilite camp trailer. The issue Im having is it un-winds when I go down the road. I installed straps to hold the tire on but the winch still came down. Now the end piece of the cable has been ruined by bouncing off the road. So two questions. 1 can I purchase the end piece for the cable which fits into the tire so it can be raised. 2 how can I keep the cable from lowering when Im pulling the camper down the road. Thank you.

You will need the Replacement Winch and Crank Extension # LC74HD to replace the damaged tire holder on your Lippert RV Spare Tire Carrier with Winch # LC159041. This should also resolve your issue with the tire cable lowering from the winch. It is possible that part of the brake inside the winch was damaged which allowed your winch cable to drop and contact the ground while traveling.

It is very important to only use a Manual Crank Handle # LC285324 with the tire carrier as if you use a drill adapter it will damage the winch and cause the internal brake to fail.
