Should I Use A Gooseneck Hitch Ball On My 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie Short Bed Truck

Will a Reese goose box 94716 or 94720 fit onto my Grand Design 337RLS and be compatible with my short bed Ram Laramie 2500 crew cab, 6ft4in bed?

The Reese Goose Boxes are pin box specific. The Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter - Lippert 1621 and 0719 - 20,000 lbs, part # RP85FR, is a direct replacement for the Lippert 1621 and 0719 pin box. The other Reese Goose Box you referenced, part # RP94716, is a direct replacement for the Lippert 1716. If your Grand Design 337RLS has either of these pin boxes, this replacement will work. There should be a sticker on your pin box identifying its model.

It may not be the best idea to go with a goose box on your 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie with the short bed. The reasoning behind this is your goose box will not move the pivot point on your pin box. This will make taking sharp turns in your vehicle very difficult. A slider hitch takes this into consideration and it slides this pivot point back, giving you the much needed clearance when you need to make sharp turns.

You can add something like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset - 12" to 16" Tall, part # CAB-C5GX1216. This will add a 7-1/2" offset to your gooseneck hitch. That offset will help you during turns and if your pin box is still in working order, you can add this instead of replacing your pin box.
