Should I Get A 20k Or 25k B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch For My 2022 Ford F-350 Long Bed With Pucks?
Question:
I just got a new 2022 F-350 Super Duty with a long bed and the factory puck system and need to get a 5th wheel hitch for it. I want a B&W Companion, but am debating between the 20k and 25k options. Camper currently weighs around 18k, so the 20k option will be perfectly fine, but should I get the 25k one? This truck has a lot of towing capacity and don't want to possibly limit myself. And advice would be appreciated.

Though the 20k B&W Companion # BWRVK3300 will snap right into the pucks in the bed of your 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty, it will indeed limit you a little. Since your new truck has such a high towing capacity, I do recommend going with the 25k Companion # BWRVK3305. Yes, this will be more expensive. However, if you ever upgrade to a larger camper that exceeds the 20k capacity of the # BWRVK3300, you will need to replace the hitch. If you already have the higher capacity # BWRVK3305, you are still good to go.
Just as a side note, I do like to recommend adding wiring to the bed of a truck that is towing a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer and the Bargman # 54701-007-010 is a great option. This has a nice sturdy door and you won't need to drape the wiring over the tailgate, which can damage it. It is definitely a nice thing to have.
