Brake Controller for a 2011 Range Rover w/ Tow Package
Question:
Planning to use 2011 Range Rover to tow a 19’ Airstream and have never towed before so forgive the ignorance on the subject. From what I gather I should install a trailer brake controller in the car. Confirming if that’s necessary or whether the car electrics will take care of braking otherwise, as well as which is the best one to buy should it be needed. Thanks!

Yes, you will need a brake controller to control your trailer's brakes with your 2011 Land Rover Range Rover. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that will activate your 2019 Airstream's brakes in proportion to your Range Rover's braking action. It automatically adjusts the trailer's braking based on deceleration of your vehicle. The brakes will activate immediately so you won't have to worry about pausing like with time-delayed brake controllers.
