Does the Cover on 4- and 7-Way Trailer Connector 30955 Lock the Trailer Connector In Place
Question:
I have a F-150 that had a 4 pin/ 7 pin already installed. When the lid/ cover lifted up and I plugged my trailer in, the lid was spring loaded and lockedinch the trailer plug end into the truck receptacle end. Does this 30955 do that also? I dont want to assume anything.

What your are describing is a common feature of most every 7-Way trailer connector including # 30955. They are designed that way for the exact reason you explain: it locks the connector into place so it cannot accidentally pull out.
