Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fitment of Pins and Castle Nuts
Question:
Installing an M5 20k when adjusting the Ford legs the cotter pins in the castle nuts are so tight they are almost impossible to remove and definitely not reusable. Either the hole in the bolt is to small or the cotter pin is to big. Can I safely use a smaller cotter pin?

If the pins on your Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Towing Prep Package, # RP30922 fit but are aggravatingly tight to insert I suggest you first ensure they are not rusted or have a rough surface. Run some emery cloth over them and use silicon to lube. If that does not resolve issue you can safely use a different pin as long as it maintains the castle nut in place.
