Helpful Expert Reply:
I just spoke to my rep at Curt to confirm and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C11020 will fit the 2008 Smart ForTwo Cabriolet convertible model. The hitch receiver will hang below the center exhaust and cause no interference.
You will want to use the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories item # 18050 to secure any accessories you would mount to the hitch receiver.
