Recommended Replacements For VMC9000L 5th Wheel Landing Gear On A 2007 Fleetwood Prowler 285

Question:

I have an 07 prowler 285 that has venture vmc900L-225935 landing gear according to a sticker under the little metal cap that is on top of the landing gears, I just pulled a measurement of the main square tube it measures 29 1/2inch and the straps that they are mounted to measure 15 1/2from the outside to outside of strap and 11 1/2inch from inside to inside. Can you point me in the direction of what I can get for my trailer as one is binding pretty good and straining my motor, at this point and age Im considering replacing both. Thank you

The VMC900L number you found is a determining number and we definitely have a replacement kit for you. And actually two different options. I will say that the measurements you got are a little different than what we have available though, so the mounting straps may need to be relocated to get replacements. I included a diagram of how these will measure for you to check out, but the 29-1/2" overall height matches perfectly.

With that said, if you wanted to replace the whole system, the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-1 will be rated for 5,500 pounds of capacity and the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-3 will be rated to 6,500 pounds of capacity. These are full kits that include both legs, connection bar, motor, manual crank, and the switch.

If you prefer to just replace the legs, however, you will need the Replacement Lead Jack w/ Drop Leg # LG-179013 and the Replacement Follow Jack w/ Drop Leg # LG-179014.
