If we estimate the trailer weight at about 4,500 pounds then that should put the tongue weight in the 450 to 675 pound range which is 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. If you are carrying anything behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle that weight needs to be added to the trailer tongue weight total. Then based on the figure you come up with you can choose the best weight distribution system.

If the total tongue weight ends up being between 400 to 800 pounds then the Strait-Line system that you referenced, # RP66083, would be an excellent choice. You would just need to add an appropriately sized ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch.

But if the total tongue weight is between 200 to 600 pounds then I would recommend # RP66082. The same balls also work for this system. I have linked instructions for you to view.

Both of these systems included dual-cam sway control and the shank. Please note that the shank that is included has a maximum rise of 6-1/2 inches and maximum drop of 1-1/4 inches. If more rise or drop is needed you would need to purchase a different shank, see link for options. I have also included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control for you.
