Expert Reply:
The correct wiring harness for your 2001 Subaru Outback Wagon will depend on if it is a Sport model or not. For a Sport model, there will not be a direct plug and play option available and the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 is your best option.
With that said, if you do not have the Sport model. the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118461 will be the best option. This will be a direct plug and play option that will be a very quick and easy install. But again, will not fit the Sport models.
I will also say that the Tekonsha brand wiring harnesses are the longest lived out of all the brands we currently carry, so even if you do have a Sport model, it will be a great harness for your Subaru. It will just take a bit more to complete the install .
