How to Determine the Correct Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer Level with the 2013 Toyota RAV4
Question:
We have a 4x8 tear trailer and a Toyota 2013 AWD RAV4. My question is...is the hitch too low to pull a trailer? The older RAV 4s Had the tires on the back of the vehicle but the 2013 model it is under the cargo area. This has lowered it significantly from what I see. I would love to purchase this kit but wanted some clarification.

A hitch can be low, or very high, you just need the proper rise or drop ball mount to tow the trailer level. I have included a link to an FAQ article that shows you how to measure for rise or drop. But you have to have the hitch installed first for the most accurate measurement.
Once you have found the correct ball mount rise you will need be sure to get a ball that matches the coupler of the trailer you plan to tow and that fits the hole of the ball mount you choose. You will also need wiring to power the trailer lights. You can use wiring harness # 118578. I have linked the instructions for the hitch and wiring for you.
