Best 5TH Wheel Hitch For a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Long Bed With Factory Prep/Puck System

Question:

What fifth wheel hitch do you recommend that will not bind up? I had an older Reese hitch in my last truck and it would bind up if I wasn't on perfectly flat ground. I just got a new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Duramax dually with the long bed and the in bed hitch mounting points. I don't want to reuse the old hitch as I am tired of the binding.

I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3715 as being the best hitch for your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. This fixed hitch has a cam-action latching handle that will help prevent binding. Even when on uneven terrain you will be able to unlock the handle and pull out from underneath the trailer. This hitch is rated for up to 25,000lbs with a maximum tongue weight of 6,250lbs.

I do recommend using a Lube Plate # RP83002 on your pin box. This nylon plate will allow your pin box to easily slide on and off your hitch as well as quiet the ride while turning. Best off all you will not need to use grease on the mating surfaces which will make it a lot cleaner and not attract dirt.

You can use the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device # BWRVXA3130 to more easily remove and install the hitch from your truck bed. This will allow you to lift the 156LB hitch out of the bed using a lifting system like a winch or tractor at your home.
