Wiring is Too Short Installing Tow Ready T-One Harness on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I found that the wiring harness was.too short to reach the passenger side tail light when trying to go through the bumper tubing as described in the install video. I had to route it above and outside the bumper tubing. The wire is now pulled very tight and I could not connect the ground. I couldnt find any other route to connect it like the video with some slack wire to spare. Year: 2012 Make: Jeep Model: Grand Cherokee not SRT

There is an installation note right below the specs on the product page of the Tow Ready # 118425 that notes if you need extra length, you can cut the zip tie on the passenger side harness.

I have found by researching the previous customers installation experiences, many of them with your vehicle, have had to use this method to gain that extra little bit of wire to finish the installation.

In the picture, I have designated the ziptie in question.
