Are you speaking of an OEM brake controller?
If so, your best bet would be to see the dealer, or to replace the factory controller with an aftermarket model like the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160.
You'll need the # 3024-P wiring adapter to install the Primus brake controller, but you'll need to have the OEM controller disconnected from the vehicle computer to remove the warning that will pop up on the dash once the OEM controller is unplugged. The dealer will need to re-flash the computer to get rid of the dash warning.
