Should Grease be Used to Fill Space Inside After Hub Installation
Question:
I ordered the pre-greased hub and installed it. It is great but i noticed there is more space inside Do I need to add more grease to fill it up? These is some play when is hub is installed. After putting on the cap, should I fill it completely up?

When installing your Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K there should not be any "play" or space. Since it is pre-greased, more grease is not needed. I recommend checking your spindle to make sure this hub is correct. It uses a # L44643 inner and outer bearing, so your spindle should measure 1" where both bearings ride.
I have attached a helpful article on replacing/packing bearings, as well as a video showing the process and what your hub should look like when it is on the spindle.
